Devon Carter Jr Youth Innovation Award
Juneteenth Muncie, in partnership with Devin & Teresa Carter, presents the Devin Carter Jr. Youth Innovation Award in honor of the life, dreams, goals and legacy of Devin Carter Jr.
Do you know a student, high school or younger, who is full of ideas & dreams and will enlist the support of others to accomplish them?
If so, consider nominating a young person who has done one or more of the following:
•Developed and implemented new, innovative and creative programs or activities.
•Shown initiative and leadership to be an agent of change in addressing a current issue they are passionate about.
•Innovative and creative use of their skills as the basis for developing ideas aimed at solving real-world problems.
•Successful implementation of an idea, resulting in a positive impact either in the nominee's own family, neighborhood, community or on a broader scale.
Submissions are being accepted through May 15th.
The 2023 recipient will be contacted by phone no later than Friday, May 19th. The award presentation will take place at the Representation Matters: Project Exposition on Friday, June 3rd 4:30-7p.m. at Ball State University (more details coming soon).
Juneteenth Trailblazer Award
Since 2021 Juneteenth Muncie has had the privilege of recognizing Trailblazers in our community.
Recipients of this award are recognized for their outstanding contributions that help "blaze a trail" for the next generation of African American Leaders. This well-accomplished leader has excelled in their field and has made considerable contributions to their respective peers and the Muncie community.
As we gear up for our 5th annual Juneteenth Muncie Celebration, help us select our 2024 awardee.
